Practice Booklet Content

A typical practice booklet will contain:

* A list of doctors associated with the practice, including their qualifications and their areas of special interest.

* A list of other practice staff
(Photographs are often included with doctor/staff lists to help patients identify who's who)

* Opening and surgery times

* Details of emergency and out-of-hours services locally

* Guidance on how to make appointments

* Guidance on how to register with the practice

* Guidance on how repeat prescriptions can be ordered

* Details of how you can collect the results of tests

* A pricelist for any non-NHS services

* A list of all clinics run by the practice with details of when they are held and how to attend

* Details of disabled access arrangements and parking

* Details of the comments, suggestions & complaints procedures

* Useful telephone numbers, such as local hospital numbers, numbers for health charities and other support services etc

* Information on how the practice complies with the Freedom of Information Act & the Data Protection Act
